AURA LAUNCHES AUSTRALIA’S FIRST PYRO DRONE LIGHT SHOW
On February 10, 2026, AURA Drone Shows delivered Australia’s first-ever drone light show combined with synchronised onboard pyrotechnics.
Launched during YPO’s Global Leadership Conference, the large-scale aerial production combined 500 drones with integrated pyrotechnic effects, creating a new category of live entertainment in Australia.
The show unfolded as Delta Goodrem performed live on stage beneath the aerial production, combining music, drone technology, and pyrotechnics into a fully synchronised entertainment experience.
Delivered in collaboration with Foti International Fireworks, Australia’s most awarded fireworks company and one of the world’s leading pyrotechnic providers. The activation marked a major milestone for the Australian live events industry.
Pushing the Boundaries of Drone Entertainment in Australia
As Australia’s leading drone light show operator, AURA continues to push the boundaries of what is possible within aerial entertainment.
Delivering Australia’s first pyro drone show reflects AURA’s position at the forefront of the industry. Combining advanced drone technology, creative innovation, and large-scale operational capability to produce experiences few operators are equipped to deliver.
While drone light shows themselves require significant technical precision, integrating onboard pyrotechnics introduces an entirely new level of engineering, safety planning, and execution complexity. Successfully delivering a production of this scale required extensive testing, aviation approvals, operational coordination, and collaboration between aerial and pyrotechnic teams.
The YPO activation further positions AURA as one of the premier drone entertainment providers in the region, continuing to lead the evolution of drone technology within live events, entertainment, and brand experiences.
How the Pyro Drone Show Worked
Unlike traditional drone light shows, this production involved pyrotechnic effects physically mounted to the drones themselves.
Specially engineered pyrotechnic units were securely attached to selected aircraft within the fleet, allowing synchronised waterfall-style effects to be launched directly from the drones while in flight. The result was a layered aerial performance combining illuminated drone formations with cascading pyrotechnic visuals moving dynamically through the sky.
Integrating pyrotechnics onboard drones requires significantly higher levels of engineering, testing, and operational coordination than a standard drone show. Every effect must be carefully balanced against aircraft weight, flight performance, timing systems, and safety requirements.
The production required extensive collaboration between the AURA Drone Shows and Foti International Fireworks teams across creative development, pyrotechnic integration, aviation approvals, safety protocols, and live show execution.
A Fully Immersive Live Performance
The YPO Global Leadership Conference provided the perfect setting to launch the technology in front of a global audience of business leaders and executives.
As Delta Goodrem performed live beneath the aerial production, the drones and pyrotechnic effects moved in sync above the stage, creating a fully immersive entertainment experience that blended live music with aerial storytelling.
Following her performance, Delta Goodrem herself stopped to watch the drone and pyrotechnic display from the ground, visibly captivated by the scale of the production.
The singer was seen taking photos and videos of the show for her own social media, highlighting the impact the performance had not only on the audience, but also on the performers involved in the event itself.
The response from attendees throughout the night reflected the growing demand for next-generation live entertainment experiences that go beyond traditional stage production.
The Future of Drone and Pyrotechnic Entertainment
The success of the YPO activation signals a major shift in what is possible within live events and aerial entertainment.
By combining the precision and creative flexibility of drone technology with the energy and atmosphere of pyrotechnics, productions can now deliver immersive experiences that were previously impossible using traditional fireworks or drone shows alone.
As demand continues to grow for large-scale live experiences that generate both in-person impact and online engagement, pyro drone shows represent a new frontier for global entertainment, sporting events, brand activations, and cultural celebrations.
